Alicja is a Polish filmmaker based between Edinburgh, Scotland and New York. Her films tend to be influenced by magic realism and satirical comedy. Most recently, she wrote and directed comedy-drama ‘M’ungry’, a short film just beginning its festival run. Previously, her short revenge-comedy 'Canberra, Bitch' screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2022, London Short Film Festival 2023 and Women X Film Festival 2023, amongst others, while a screener is available on the Girls In Film platform. In 2019, Alicja was selected for the BellRock Writers' Residency of Creative Scotland to develop her first feature-length original screenplay and attended Rotterdam International Film Festival to pitch her project in 2020. In 2018, she graduated with a BA (Hons) in Film from Screen Academy Scotland.
She is currently pursuing an MFA in Film, Screenwriting & Directing at Columbia University in the City of New York.
